Are we talking aboaut a small portable or large built-in?On small portables,particularly those of metal composition, if the tarnish is bad enough where it is dislodging in filmitous sheets it is advisable to get a new tank.In less severe cases you can attempt access with a flexible handled brush in an attempt to dislodge loose deposits and follow with a fuel flush.Someone else may have some other advise on removal of contaminates in built-ins if that is what you have.Perhaps there is some chemical or ultra-sonic method.
