So I put an ad on Craigslist for the little boat and mentioned a couple of motors that could be added on. A guy came and wanted the boat but he also wanted one of the unprepared motors.

We drug out the old 10hp 1956 Johnson and started cranking, unfortunately with the throttle in the stop position. EDIT

We finally determined the problem and it started.

Other than my physical pain I guess this really isn't a grumble cause the boat and motor have a new owner and I broke even while keeping the better trailer.

did you not read the starting instructions for an old johnson??? to much pulling without ignition is an obvious sign that you need to take a break, and rethink your method. ie...to much throttle? not enough choke? jmo
