Re: Shangri La w/ ford engine and eaton interceptor outdrive

OK, go figure! Microsoft Powerpoint allows you to insert the picture into PowerPoint and then reconvert it back to a jpeg, thereby lowering the file size (as attached). My brother-in-law (an Annapolis sailor) also uses Picassa.
Anyway, I have contacted Marysville and I'll let you know the outcome. Had a local ancient mariner in the repair business look at the engine and drive. He says the outdrive hasn't been manufactured for over 40 years, but is a cousin to the Volvo and OMC. Wasn't much help on identifying the engine without pulling the numbers and not much help on my water system questions, but was impressed with the condition of both as new.
My water questions are as follows. Basically, inside the boat, the hose from the outdrive was there, but not connected to anything. One side of the secondary pump was connected into the system that splits into the heat exchangors. The other side of the secondary was not connected to anything. Unfortunately, the side connected to the health exchangor system has a T in it and one leg of the T was not connected to anything. Lastly, there was a smaller hose coming off the manifold above the heat exchanger splitter hose system that was also not connected to anything.
In a locker on the boat was a single hose (not connected to anything), and a T connector with a valve, where a water hose connector preceded the valve turn off that fed the top of the flow through T (not connected to anything).
My supposition is that the connector goes after the outdrive input, followed by the hose to the unconnected side of the secondary pump. Hence, one could connect a hose to feed the secondary pump and the engine cooling system without need to feed water through the outdrive intake.
Unfortunately, that leaves me scratching my head on where the manifold output connects and where the T on the supply side of the secondary pump connects?! Frankly, I didn't want to turn the engine over without being sure the water system was connected properly. I'm fine with pre-start up tasks with regard to gas, oil, etc. otherwise. Hence, my immediate need for the manuals.
