Anyone use any shallow water anchor poles? Wondering how well they work. If you do what size poles do you use? Would love to get a power pole for the toon but cant afford 1500 for an anchor for the old girl.

I see folks using the shallow water anchor poles in busy anchorages (sand bars, off an island), so they must work. But they look like work to be worth anything. I've never had the need myself. I use conventional anchoring methods, or just raft up next to somebody.

I live in Michigan and we boat in Lake Michigan or on one of the lakes off from it we mostly are beached along the shore. Just want something to hold the aft of the toon from spinning from the waves coming in. Normally I toss out an anchor out the back but there’s always a lot of foot traffic behind the boats where we are playing. Thought if I could pull up on the beach and put down a pole to hold the rear it would just be more convenient. But haven’t personally seen anyone use one besides the power ones and they seem to work great but I’m not willing to throw down 1500$ on an anchor if I could get way with 300$.

$1500 is peanuts if you want the ease of pushing a button and done.

myself, if I get a 'toon, I would go with sealegs

for $300, you can get 1-1/2 sand augers (you need at least two sand augers and the best price you will find is $200

"Sand Augers", would these be the alum. ones that look a lot like the ones you might use to hold a dock up, only painted a fancy flourescent color so they're easy to find?

Yeah sand augers wouldn’t be a bad way to go either didn’t even think about them I have a small one for the jetskis when we aren’t anchored to the toon

so after some checking there are a lot of plastic/pvc ones out in the market but I think I'm going to go with these
