shaft extension kit

I need help with finding an shaft extension kit for a 1972 johnson seahorse 20 hp. My boat needs a long shaft and i have a short. My choices are cut my transom down 4 inches on a 1967 freeland fiberglass boat or extend the shaft. Buying a different motor is not an option. Any ideas? Thank you.

Call Tim's outboard 218-682-2331. They'll likely have a kit for you (used, and nice price!). Have your model number handy so they'll know exactly what you need. They may even have the 5" housing extension that's the same color!

You should check out this website for extension kits: .baymfg.com/ I'm not sure if they go back that far, but you can ask. We've purchased a number of their kits and they work fine.
