I'm trying to get some umbrella rigs put together for spring trolling season for Rockfish in the Chesapeake. I have the rigs, some leaders, and some 6 inch shad lures. Does anyone know how to assemble the rigs? Also, does anyone have some detailed photos that will help? Or a detailed description of how to make them? Thanks so much in advance!

Yes, thank you ... this helps. It all makes sense except one thing ... how do you attach the shad lures to the rig that do not have hooks (since where I am fishing in MD waters, the rig can only have 2 hooks max)? A friend said to just pierce the lures with the snap swivel but I'm not sure that this is correct.

usually a piece of metal (coat hanger size material) is run through the shads and secures them. that is attached to a swivel of some sort and then connected to the rig arms. you need the swivel to allow for the proper motion of the shads. if you can get to a store, they usually sell rigs already made up and ready to use. you could look at for help.
