Setting timing on a Volvo Penta 5.0L GL Motor

Hi: Can someone please tell me the proper way to set ignition timing on my 98 Volvo Penta 5.0 GL (vortec). Thanks

You should have the Prestolite BID distributor on that engine, nothing special, just turn it to where you want it. 10? BTDC at 700 rpm.
