I have a 92 115hp Mariner, I got my motor back running last night. It is idleing around 2500 RPMs so I need to definitly lower that. Can someone help me lower this....do I just turn the idle screw and thats all or is there something else I should do and look for. I do have a manual, but not here at my office .....and I would like to know as much as possible prior to getting to the lake a setting this correctly. THanks

Re: Setting My Idle Screw

I think that your best plan of action is to perform a full link and sync. Each link and sync step/setting is dependent on all previous link and sync steps/settings being correct. If you adjust one setting to lower the idle speed and it is actually offsetting another incorrect step/setting, this can lead to more problems and possibly engine damage.

Having said this, check that the linkage is not restricted anywhere causing the carb throttle plates or trigger under the flywheel to not return back to idle position. Just my thoughts...
