Re: Service info, old SeaHorse
Hi Bob<br />I can help you with part #s. I also understand the problem with not having a manual. I don't know of any after market books that cover this model. How ever you may find find a copy of a motor manual at the public library. You may have to look in the reference sec, or out dated materials sec. You may find a book that briefly covers your model or just hits the high points. Fortunately these are very basic units so the high points may be enough to get you by. The most important thing is to be gental taking the thing apart. Carb, ignit parts and some of the plumbing can be sencitive. If you post you email address I will send you the part #s for the entire machine. I will also try to answer or explain any questions you may have. Most of these motors,if they are anywhere near fair condition can be made ready to run with a minium of parts. Just clean out the tank and carb. Carefully remove the points clean the contacts and the little bake-a-lite sticks that actuate them. Reinstall and adjust. Change the gear oil and your ready to go. Also be carefull with the cork float in the carb, if they are not shot already, they can be very fragil. One more word of advice, this goes for all older motors, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Don't take anything apart unless you have to,to make the repair.
