i have just recently gotten my first outboard
rig. it is a 14 foot trophy fiberglass with a 50 hp evinrude. i was told it was navy surplus and had a 70 hp leg.it looks huge and
and i saw my prop fit right onto a 90 hp johnston, so maybe thats true.trouble is it wants to turn right badly. tightening the cable steering and adjusting the little skeg (alot) helped but it still pulls alot.plus i cant find a way to tighen motor pivot any ideas.

Iam gonna make a guess here that you have a three cyl. 50 that looks just like its 60/70 sisters. If so there is no steering friction screw on the swivel bracket to my recollection. An engine that is rigged off center can cause your syptoms but the fact that moving your trim tab helps is good. Try a little more and then it is on to steering system alternitives.
