Hello boaters ,
I bought a 75hp Mercury outboard engine ,
Thing is my insurance company needs my serial number,..
Looked for it, found the silver coin with this number : A760862
No matter where i look, the serial number doesn't match any engines ... (i've tried writing it with a 1 in front or a 0) nothing worked ..

Thanks

I am thinking it is a 4 cylinder 1986 model.-----Post a picture of it.-----Your insurance company should accept that as the factory serial #.

ENG: 0A760862 10754120C MERCURY 75 ELPTO
Serial/Model:10754120C
Manufacture Date:04/05/1990

Thanks

???-----Clear this up.-----Is it a 4 cylinder , yes or no ??

4 Cylinder, 2-Stroke engine .

The serial number is suppose to match an engine on Mercurymarine.com .. Somehow it doesn't , reasons , still vague ..
I've owned a Johnson/evinrude beforehand , and in no case were my parts so :nono: NO NEED TO CURSE hard to get online .
Not sure why would my serial number now on the mercury, would be a mercury only dealer website unavailable for clients...

Alright ? How am i suppose to order parts online, if no websites will match my serial number ..

I tried using your serial number and it doesn’t work for parts look up on the consumer or the dealer only sites. I’ve run into this just a few times over the years. Not sure why it happens, guessing somebody hit the wrong key during registration.

I think you got 2 options
call mercury and see if they can straighten it out
or do like racerone is doing and search by year and horse power.
