How does a WPL file work? I saved a monologue from Paul Harvey and would like to send a link to a friend. The file shows up in MY PLAYLISTS as a 1KB WPL file. When you select the segment off of the Paul Harvey website, it doesn't identify a link, it just opens straight to Windows Media Player.

Probably after a week, the particular day and time selection rotates off of the PH website. So I don't think you could go back later and find it there.

I think the WPL file is just text (like a link), not audio....

If you right click on the link on Paul's web site, and choose properties, you'll see the web address...

I don;t think you can download the actual monologues... :(

Here.. send your friend thius one... :D
http://lovedocs.com/audio/paulbong.mp3

:D :D :D

Actually snapper, I think I'll pass. My 'friend' was actually my 18 y/o son. :D

Hopefully here is the link I wanted to send. He does a spiel about perseverance. When it opens, slide it about 2\3 if of the way. He starts to talk about books he reads about accomplished people.

http://www.paulharvey.com/graphics/head_graph/noon_f2.gif

Well that doesn't work. It just takes you to the graphic of the 'Saturday Noon' Icon as displayed on his website. Come next week the options will rotate out and yesterdays monologue won't be a available to select.

There still must be a way to do it other than posting a link to the website. Could you 'record/burn' the monologue to the harddrive as it is playing. Even if you could, I guess it would be too big a file to email. Hmmmmmmmmmm?

Re: Sending a WPL file.

I record off of web radio all the time. I use a software product called Replay Radio. I record in one hour chunks to MP3 files and when I have 30-40 hours recorded I use Nero Buring Room to cut a data CD that I take to the office and play on my computer there. If you want to play them back on the CD in your car or audio system you need to cut the CD as music.

When cut as music I can get 10-15 songs per CD denending on time length. When cut as data I can get 30-50 hours of MP3 music on a CD.

I got into this when the folks at work tweaked our firewall blocking any live music.

Can't help with the WPL file. Next time record as an MP3 file.
