Hello all, quick question... If I ever end up selling my boat and trailer I would have a little issue because my trailer did not come with a title because in NY if it is under 999 pounds, you dont receieve a title for it...so how could i ever eventually sell the thing if all I have for the trailer is a registration card? **note, i do have a title for the boat**

Didn't you have the same situation when you got it? I guess the new owner would do the same thing you did to transfer when you bought the rig.

Ayuh,..... In NY State, a wagon either has a title, 'n non-transferable registration,....

Or,....

A transferable registration,.....

If ya got the transferable registration, ya just sign off on the back of it, 'n hand it to the new owner, who can re-register it,...

Generally, the active registration is what is acceptable when a title is not required. For an out of state buyer, when the time comes, the buyer should verify that the registration certificate will suffice.

In KY they need a bill of sale, so long as the state where it came from didn't require a title. We also don't require plates on a boat trailer
