My 84 18' Century Mercruiser 140 was in storage for 15 years.
After getting it running again and changing lower unit lube, engine oil etc, a slow troll requires effort to keep the steering wheel of a
manual cable(from one side) straight. Otherwise it will crank to one extreme by itself. I havent been able to get it running at plane speed yet,
just rec'd carb rebuild kit, but I was wondering
if some part of the drive being stiff or locked up could cause this kind of steering force?
Thanks in advance.
