Self-indulgent picture thread - a little Sunset Cruise

Wow, can't believe summer's slipping away! For various reasons, I have to take the Jet Star out of the lake Labor Day weekend. It's been a great summer getting to know the boat. Rebuilding it was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done!

I threatened pictures, now here they are:

Starting out, I saw this bird. Any help identifying it? Some sort of hawk?

And to top it all off by the campfire, after sunset:

Couldn't have asked for a better ride!

Great pictures LL, you have had a grat summer. I believe the bird is an Osprey.

Thanks! I was wondering that but couldn't think of the name. They are rare in that area.

Definitely an Osprey. They mock me as I attempt to fish at Lake Cowanesque, PA. They flutter overhead, dive down, pick up a big fish as I'm being stabbed in the palm by a little sunfish as I attempt to release it.

LL --- really nice man... fantastic scenery! Glad the boat snuck into the picture... it's been a great summer in most parts... so glad to here you have had a great summer of "getting to know your boat!!

Thanks guys. I never would have dreamed the boat would even be as much fun as it is! It has really amazed me the interest that people on the lake have shown in it. I'll sneak in another shot of my son on his first solo voyage. He burned up a lot of gas that day!

Definitely a good looking boat trip! You bet he burned up some gas, probably very little time spent below 70-80% WOT Maybe 100% at full WOT

It should attract a lot of attention, it's very well done!

Thanks...I'm thinking I may go out on the river once I drag it home. Never been on there before, but there's a good launch close to home & a fair distance between locks. I'll probably just have to watch out for more floating junk than on the lake.
