seized transom mount how to fix?

8hp johnson roughly 92mdl ive tryed bashing the thread with a solid mullet hammer as i read on these boards than used a metal rod that snapped while trying to turn this clamp it wont budge i want to avoid heat if possable is there any other way of getting it undone without replacing the part?

its simply corroded into a solid mess..try a little Kroil on the threads...let it sit, and work it back and forth. Why it seems like no one oils them once in a while is beyond me..heat won't hurt a thing..

to late i snapped the end off :% now im thinking i need to grind both ends off and drill the alloy bolt out with a 10mm drill bit and hopping for the best :^ also i just purchased the motor so it was the prevous owner who didnt look after it pitty :(

Don't cut off the inner end. Leave it sticking out so you can grab it with a vice-grips when you get most of it drilled out.

maybe i should have jumped online ealier to read these post thanks for the ideas i went ahead firstly grinding both ends off the front had a mill or two from the transom the rear had around 5mm i than grabbed 5 drill bits taking my time drilling a pilot hole than moving up in sizes i finally drilled the biggest hole around 11mm this was perfect without touching the original thread this left behind a spiral of alloy thread i simply picked bits out at a time and luckly serching my old tool box found a steel bolt with the exact same thread as the clamp screw so i oiled the thread and sent it through a few times took around 1.5 hours problem fixed i hope others learn from this experience d:)
