Seems to run out of fuel

1993 70 HP Evinrude, going through things I've replaced fuel pump and fuel filter, cranks great but runs for about 5 seconds and dies like it runs out of fuel, did have it running longer at times, is it possible the fuel pump isn't strong enough?

Thanks, I'm learning as I go, the idle sound is good, I set the carbs by ear, I'll test the low speed needles, it's a 3 cylinder so I'm assuming each carb has a needle that can be set, not sure if getting all three synced is in my wheelhouse but it makes sense that could be it

How did it run for you last season ?-----When you fill the carburetors with the manual pump it should run longer than 5 seconds !----Are you pushing the key in while cranking it over ??----Are you giving it some throttle in neutral ?-----Are you pushing the key in as needed when motor falters before it warms up ?-----What fuel pump Is on this motor ?----VRO or a simple pump with oil mixed in your tank ?-----The fuel pump runs off the crankcase PRESSURE pulses.----There may be issues there.-----And I always ask for compression test results on motors that have issues.----Post your numbers.----And does the hose for the tell tale come off the side of the block or the top of the block ?

My first year to have this boat, previous owner did away with the vro, I've been going through replacing what I can, tank,hose, impeller, fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs, steering cable, the fuel pump was what was recommended when I looked up the replacement, I am pushing in on the switch a couple of times, cranks right up, sounds good, starts to sound like it's about to die and push in again, runs a while but still dies, raising the throttle helps but still runs a while and dies, I've got a opening a month from now to have it looked at, just hoping for a miracle before then, thank you very much for the input, there's a couple of things that I can check

Low speed needles on the side of the carb, How many turns out from lightly seated are they?

Sorry , can not see your motor..-----Is it the VRO replacement or the simple $100 ( 3 nipple ) pump ?-----Was the pulse limiter removed if it is the simple pump.?----No need to push the key in a couple of times before cranking.----Push key in and hold it in while cranking !
