i was at a small pond and saw a bunch of baby flatheads swimming around, so i scooped a bucket of them and put them in my 55 gallon fish tank at home... the dozen fish that i have in there right now can go through a can of blood worms & pan warms in about 2 days i believe there doubling in size every week

Yeah, blood worms are good. Another good was are chicken liver.

Let it sit out in the sun for about 3 hours on a hot rock; they get smelling like a dead body after a while.

Good stuff.

Bunker in a styrafoam cooler closed up for a week in the hot sun is great too. I threw up pulling it apart one time to put it on the hook but i did good that day. I didnt have any bait whyle we were camping and the rest of the family went to town and i walked to the cooler that we drug away from the campsite 4-5 days before that with the bunker and it was a great day fishing.

What kind of catfish did you catch on the blood worms? If I want to catch big fish, catfish are my first choice. Little Rock is a haul to the gulf.

The Arkansas River has good catfishing as does the Mississippi. In my opinion, the catfish is overlooked as a sport fish. That is starting to change.

Get ya some goldfish, bluegil or the like for live bait.
Big chub minnows also and after they die, use them as cut bait.
Catalpa worms are also good.
Shad is good. Skip Jacks are great.
Oh yea, they love baby catfish.
Yea, they eat their own.
Cut the fins off, put a 10 or 12/0 through the back and let them have at it.

+1 for the stinky chicken livers. I grew up with rivermud in my skin.

I catfish 95% of the time I am on the water. I am a member to a couple catfishing forums. I fish the James River in Va and have done pretty good in the past year of targeting the HAWGS. 65 pounds is my biggest yet and the 70's and 80's aren't far away. Big fresh gizzard shad is the best bait for the giant blues here on the James, LIVE gills, chubs, goldfish, bass and anything else that swims is a good choice for flatheads. For channels throw anything, anything at all they will eat it!
Not sure if I am allowed to post a link in here so if anyone wants the link to a great catfish forum pm me and I will hook you up!
Pick of my personal best
