Hello:

I have a Lowe 150 15ft bass boat (1990) with a minor problem. The seats both have the standard 3/4 inch diameter mount on them. The boat has two post mounts, one in front and one in back as well as two flat seat mounts (side-by-side) at the console. The console mounts are intended to mount the seat barely above the bench. The two mounting types use different mounting styles, but both use the same type of adapter. In the bench position, there is a 1.76" diameter hole in the top of the bench mount. In the posts, there is a 1.56" diameter hole in the poles. The boat has a black plastic adapter that converts between the two styles. I am attaching a sketch of the adapter as well as a couple of pictures. The 2nd picture shows the adapter seated in the console bench position. The 3rd picture shows the adapter seated in the top of the post mount. The 4th (right-hand) picture shows the adapter next to the lower end of the post mount. Has anyone seen this sort of thing? Who makes it or made it? Where can I get a couple of them?

Alternatively, what is the best way to deal with this issue? I am always having to shuffle the adapters around from location to location. I only have two seats but four possible locations for them. I would prefer to have the adapters not be moved whenever I move a seat.

Re: seat mount adapter

Thanks CMCheese,

That has some potential, but it looks rather pricey for what I would need to get. Anyone else have any ideas?

It just occured to me that a trip to the hardware store sometimes solves my problems. Wander around with the parts you need and see if anything can be adapted.

try here, didn't see what you had on their site, worth a look and even a phone call, I believe they have corp. office in MI.

EDIT, I talked to a woman named polly, she says they have one adapter.
not listed on their web site she offered to fax me the page from their catalogue. sorry no fax at home. give her a call 616-897-2394, your post reminded me about the seat bases in my boat needing new inserts , they are sending them to me no charge. I'd say that is good customer service as these bases are at least 6 years old.

I sent an e-mail with these same pictures and got a similar response. The guy who responded is sending me a couple at no charge. The last time I dealt with them I had a new bimini top and had dropped a "special" bolt in the drink and they sent me a replacement at no charge plus a spare. A real class act supplier. I will be looking for Atwood on my future purchases. They belong in the boating hall of fame.
