I am thinking about buying a new 2601 Seaswirl cuddy cabin. I like the layout for fishing and the family compromises and right now they have a number of factory incentives. So it looks like a great all around boat for the monet
The question I have is i have owned proline and Grady white in the past (smaller) and they ran great in the ocean (plan to run it from Watch Hill to the merrimac) but I have not been able to find any reviews of this boats performance in the normal rough ocean?
Any help out there?

Re: Seaswirl

I have a 21 foot center console, a very safe, dependable boat. It is 8'6" wide(wider than Grady I believe); this makes it very stable at rest, little rolling in the waves. This however does make it run a little rough in moderate chop. Perhaps the longer length and weight of the boat you are interested in will help. One other thing that bugs me with my boat is that there is no dry storage. You'll have the cabin of course, but check your in-deck storage spaces to see if the the inner lip is lower than the outer lip. If so,and if there is no tight gasket, water will enter your storage area. Also,if the bolts that attatch your hardware are inside the hold, if they are not sealed, they will leak also. The boat itself is very solid, and other than these things,I'm very happy with it.
