I just did 2 things for myself. I retired and bought a 2003 18' Seaswirl. First ever boat and in trying to find out how everything works I have a few questions. The bilge pump does not work. tried to look at it and it is by far out of reach in the back of the boat. Wanted to see if it was getting power and the dashboard has about 8 switches none labelled so i turned them all on. After getting the navigation lights off, the bait tank off, the horn off, and the windshield wipers to stop i was left with 4 unknown switches. I left them all on but no bilge pump activity. I looked at a manual, Seaswirl Boats owners, and it was useless. It said the fuse block was under the helm? My fuse block is inside the cabin above the sink which doesn't work. When i got my head in there every fuse was connected to a wire except the bilge and the wire was nowhere to be found? What to do. Tried using the sink and there is no water. I looked underneath and saw the water feed connected and then disappear along the gunwale. Can't find the water tank filling cap? The manual says it is on the gunwale, not on my boat as far as I see. Would love it if they had illustrations. All in all I'm looking for an accurate manual hopefully with illustrations and/or help finding these things. If anyone can help that would be great!

Can’t help you with the rest but…the bilge pump is typically wired so the circuit is always “hot”.

Usually directly from the battery switch or the battery directly to a flat switch. The helm switch is used to over-ride the switch

Thank You. I'll look for that connection tomorrow. Unfortunately the batteries are also fairly inaccessible!

There is a website for Seaswirl Striper owners. They are pretty knowledgeable.

It is the Stripers Owners Club www.soc.com

Remember, boats come with lots of accessories, sometimes switches are installed for stuff the boat doesn't have. I use the wiper switch to run my stereo and GPS, since I do not have a wiper.
