Seaswirl boat help, New guy

Hello From Montana,<br /><br /> This is my first post and honestly I was amazed to find a forum of this size just for "boating", I’m sure I’m going to enjoy it.<br /><br />I bought a Seaswirl boat about a week ago, it has a fisher-pierce homelite 55 O/B motor on it and interior and body is in great condition (except the bimini top), no leak,...<br /><br />The motor has compression issue that I’m going to fix but the mystery is the age of this boat.<br /><br />It's gonna take couple of months to get the title to actually know what year it's from, the owner had no idea what this boat was and I paid $150 (including trailer)<br /><br />I emailed Seaswirl and they sent me the original catalog picture of the boat, it's defiantly a Newport, early 70's my guess.<br /><br />The serial # is not valid according to sea swirl and there is no other number anywhere on the boat other than the pic.<br /><br />What do you think? Thanks for the fisher pierce parts website, i'm gonna need it when i start rebuliding this puppy.<br /><br />The boat you linked is not the same but similar and from that era. i can't find any # on the transom or anywhere else other than the picture. :(
