i just bought a 1969 sears jon boat that is 16 ft. does anyone know who made them for sears and where do i find the serial numbers

Your boat is probably a Sea king, most boats produced before 1973 did'nt have a HIN " Hull Id Number ". I know that in my state if the boat was made before then, you have to apply for a HIN #.
i just finished redoing my sears 16 ft jon boat,it looks like a new one,almostit dosen't look like it is 40 years old. it should be good for another 40 yrs.
i took the sears jon boat on its sea trials and it was great.it is going to be a great fishing boat,no leaks at this time. the places i had welded held fine.
