Does anyone out there have any idea where to go to replace(custom or OEM/fix/whatever the cabin side windows of a 1985 Searay?? I've done a lot of searching / surfing but haven't found any leads what so ever. It's hard to imagine other Searay owners don't have similar issues. I keep my 1985 in bristol shape but the salt has really beat up the side windows. They became frozen shut several years ago but now they are beginning to leak. I'm afraid if I removed them to repack them, they would turn to powder on the removal process. Should I consider selling the boat or finding a junk boat to purchase...Both of these options seem a tad drastic for replacement windows...
With the number of Searays from this era still on the water this would be a business opportunity that would be a sure win !!!

Any idea's ???

The Hagster...

Re: Searay 260 Dancer Needs window overhaul

Hagster: I would try to find one from a fresh-water Sundancer that somenone is parting out. Some of those windows on the 80s dancers leak because they are under they are mounted in the deck and not the hull. When people walk on the deck the window/deck joing flexes and with time starts to leak. You can find info on David Pascoe's sight www.yachtsurvey.com. By the way, this is the BEST boat sight on the Web. Whatever you want to know about boat construction, good boats vs bad, repair, etc is on this sight. You can spend MONTHS learning on this sight!
