Sealant Needed? Lower Unit to Extension Case?

Greetings!<br /><br />I am in the process of removing the lower unit of my outboard, in order to replace the impeller.<br /><br />After replacing the impeller, do I need to use any sealant while re-assembling the lower unit to the Extension Case (Tower)?<br /><br />The model of outboard that I own is an early 90's Honda BF50, 5HP four-stroke engine. <br /><br />Perhaps it should have three-bond or something else applied prior to re-assembly?<br /><br />Many thanks for the kindness of strangers!<br /><br />Marty<br /><br />Oddly, the shop manual says nothing about sealant either way, when re-assembling the lower unit to the extension case.

Generally speaking, a sealant is not used.
