Sealant and grease queation

Can I use permatex aviation sealant on the upper/intermediate/lower unit mating surfaces? Is there a general purpose grease to use on the outdrive/pds bearings?

marine grease. same thing you use on your trailer.

Anybody on the sealant? Workshop manual says Permatex #3. I can only find #2, Super 300 form-a-gasket and aviation gasket.

Yes, that sealer will work. Just use a very thin coat.
