Seal Compound Question.

Is "OMC Gasket Sealing Compound"<br />the same as<br />"Quicksilver Perfect Seal Sealing Compound"<br />I was in a rush and think I bought the wrong stuff.<br /><br />Thanks

BoatDan..... It's the same sealer. I have a can of each sitting in my shop. Just checked to make sure. Use it without worry.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply.<br /><br />And just to make sure -- it's the first time I'm using this stuff. This is the stuff that I put on the 'outside edge' of my prop shaft seals before I slide the seal in the housing, correct?<br /><br />(People @ work are telling me to use permatex ultra black ~ but isn't that stuff much much thicker?)<br /><br />Thanks for all your help,<br /><br />Dan

Dan.... Yes, you can use that on the outer surfaces of the seals. Do not use permatex.
