Seal blows

I have a single axle trailer for my 17ft. C.C. bay boat.
I changed the seals, bearings and races. The new inner(plastic cheap) seal on one side would not stay seated so I bought a new metal one, this seated fine.
After my 1st trip only about 10 miles I lost the bearing buddy. I checked the inner seal and noticed grease built up around spindle. Removed hub and found that the rubber around the seal was slightly worn and the inner bearing does not turn using my finger. Any ideas what the problem is?
I have not removed inner bearing yet so I can show friends the problem to get any ideas.
I've changed bearings many times and have not run into this prob. before.

Re: Seal blows

Check the seal area on the spindle to make sure there are no pits or roughness as that would eat up a seal in a hurry. Testing the inner bearing with your finger is not a good test as the grease will prevent free rotation. Are you sure you have the correct bearings and that the spindle nut is adjusted properly. As for losing the bearing buddy, make sure it is the right size and is driven firmly until the ridge is seated squarely against the hub.
