Honda BF 90 SEEEMS TO NEED CARB CLEAN OUT AFTER EPISODE OF PREVIOUS TANK REG GAS TO NEW ETHENOL ADDED FULE = ? CARB PRODUCING POOR IDEL PERFORMANCE. WOULD A DOSE OF CARB CLEANER ( SEAFOAM OR THE LIKE) BE ADVISED. I HAVE TWO OF THESE ENGINES ON SAME CRAFT WHICH HAVE SAME LIFE HISTORY & SAME BUT SEPARATE GAS TANKS. ENGINES HAVE HAD DIFFERENT LIFE EXPERIENCES,IE, ONE WORKS FINE, THE OTHER STALLS ON IDEL. I HAVE ADJUSTED THROTLE LINKAGE & ADJUSTED IDLE, BUT STILL HAVEN'T GOT SMOOTH IDLE PERFORMANCE.

Re: seafoam or not to seafoam

Those engines have 4 carbs on them and require synchronization to properly balance them as a unit. I wouldn't recommend the carb cleaner, as theres no way to inject it into each carb without removing most of the intake system.
Unless you have the gage assembly to sync the carbs as one, theres really no way to assure that one isn't puller more or less than the others at idle to WOT. I'm sure thats not what you wanted to hear, but the signs point to this. It wouldn't hurt to have the carbs removed and checked out/cleaned and the jets and passages cleaned. Hope this helps.
