I have reciently aquired a 96 Seadoo SPX thats in EXCELLENT Condition body wise for sitting outside for 7 years. Every time I hook the battery up it blows the 5A starting circut fuse! When I cross the Starter Solnoid terminals the starter kicks over..
I have now at the moment pulled the motor out and pressure cleaned the hull seeing as how the oil and fuel have leaked into the hull and made it nasty.
She smells good and looks new in there now!
I cleaned/ dremeled the starter body mounting points, negetiave cable point, battery terminal ends, checked with meter - Starter switch, Kill switch,....
I checked the CDI/ MPEM and was not sure on the ratings that i recieved from it. Maybe I didnt have my meter set correctly. everything ohm'd out ok..
I am lost as to what it would be pulling that much amperage every time thetbattery is hooked up in the starter circut with out the switch being touched..
