I have 2 1997 Seadoo GTX's. Both run good, top speed is 55 mph. on both. Just had carbs on both skis rebuilt this year. The reason I did was that even though they both run good, one has an acceleration quirk. From a standing start if you pin the throttle it will plane out slower than the other one, but if instead you pin the throttle, let off real fast then pin it again, it will come out and plane faster. It almost seems like your giving it a shot of gas like an accelerator pump but I don't beleive they have one. Any suggestions as to what the problem is.???

Re: Seadoo GTX acceleration problem

fuel issues,, could be the selector switch for reserve,, or a loose clamp allowing air in the fuel system,, try crimping the return fuel line and see if it runs better, don't shut off the return totally just restrict it use a piece of hose over the original hose and then put a clamp on it and tighten it till it is almost closed off.
