I have a 1996 Seado which starts just fine when cold, however, after warming up and you go to start it, it just cranks over and will not start. I am afraid if I keep cranking I will burn up the starter. I think maybe it has low compression. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Re: Seado engine question

doing a compression check is pretty simple and you can buy a gauge for 20 bucks,, I doubt it has a compression issue, but check it .. as for not starting when hot,, I have had that happen when a carb leaked fuel while it sat,, you probably need to rebuild the carbs if they havent been done in a few years. the time to diagnose the problem is when it is acting up.
when it won't start, remove the plugs and check for spark, maybe the coils are going bad,, if it has spark, access the top of the carbs by removing the air box and filter, look down the carb bodys with the throttle wide open and see if fuel is dripping when it sits.
