NEED SOME HELP!
Last weekend I went out on my boat and lost my steering. Everything was fine then I shut the boat down to put fuel in it, when I restarted it there was no steering. The steering wheel will free spin to the right but when turned to the left it will tighten up. The motor was turned all the way to the left when I turned it off so I am not sure if it will turn left. It may just not turn right. I noticed no oil on the water and found no obvious leaks. I figured I would just replace the helm till I priced them...$450+!! Any ideas how I can narrow down the problem and identify the exact problem before buying parts. Could it just be a seal went out inside the helm and maybe I can fix it with just and inexspensive o-ring or seal? HELP!
