I have a Sea rayder mid to late nineties F16 jet boat : OE148732 120XR I bought it not running the gentleman said he accidently pulled the cutoff switch lanyard and it died. could not restart it; I found a connection on back of the switch came off. Starts up great and revs fine but does not accelerate or pull hardly at all. Just putts along. after reading many blogs I feel it is the wear ring (but he said it ran great before died on water - connection on switch) I pulled wear ring it is scarred pretty good with scratches all around it - tried a JB weld epoxy but can not get back over the impeller to try it. Does any one have a used parts source for these? I found a new wear ring but at 800 bucks want to know its the problem first. Any help is appreciated.

That uses the 120 HP FORCE engine.-----I would do a compression test on it before spending any beer tokens on this boat.

Yea I wasnt sure how much this 120 produced. Still is fairly good . Still checking - wish I could just find a wear ring that is decent. This would eliminate this part anyway

Do not spend any beer tokens on this wear ring until you deal / resolve the low compression !!!

low compression and bad wear ring.

you have two things working against you.

as indicated above, 80psi is in the rebuild range.

spec for clearance from impeller to wear ring is .015" if I recall. so if you just smeared JB weld over the surface, you have a lot of sanding/machining to do

not sure how much money you have in the boat yet, however they were not stellar performers when new and you are looking at a reman'd power head, rebuilding the pump and before doing any of that, I would check the balsa cored hull for rot.
