Do the Sea Ray boats have wood, or fiberglass/ foam stringers? 1989 to 2003 models, 21 to 26 feet lg. I am looking for a Laguna for a project boat.

Re: Sea Ray stringers

For a short time last summer, I was partnered on an 89 Sea Ray 340 Sedan Bridge. When we bought it, our surveyor said the stringers were wood. My current project boat is an 81 Sea Ray 255 Sedan Bridge. It had wood stringers.

I realize neither of these boats exactly fit your parameters, but hope the info helps a bit.

Thanks, anything helps. I can handle all of needed boat work, except the fiberglass.

If you are handy, why not learn to work with fiberglass? That's what I'm doing.

Nobody ever thinks they can handle fiberglass... until they try it.

I have no idea what year they switched over to other materials, but safe to say that the early and mid 90's boats were wood. I thought I had remembered reading someplace that they switched sometime in the mid 2000's, but can't back it up with anything.
