sea ray searayder problems

hello all new to this forum and to boating. I have a 1996 sea ray f16 with 120 mercury. Here's the problem you have to run it for about 15 min before it seems to start picking up speed enough to plane out. Also between 2000 rpm and 4000 rpm does not go any faster just higher rpm and churning more water but moves the same speed.

is the prop in one piece? outdrive might be the problem.

that all seems to be fine like I said after awhile it does fine. took the carbs off and the shop said they were clean and in good shape did notice they weren't opening together maybe thats it also ordered new ride plate gasket to try that. Has anybody tried the smart tabs do they work somethings I read says your boat will plane out at about 10 miles an hour

Might double check the clearance on your wear ring.
I have also read that the Smart tabs work really well. Thinking about adding them myself.
