sea nymph max hp?

recently bought a 1977 16' aluminum deep v sea nymph and cant find the coast guard capacity plate must be under the carpet somewhere however just wondering if anyone has an idea as to what the max hp is on a boat like mine.

It actually depends on the design and type of steering. Is it a boat with a console and a transom well or is it an open boat?

A boat with a console is around 75-85 hp which is a guess............ got a model number?

cant find the serial number i do know on the registration it says it is a sea nymph ss 160

mine is 40hp max but its bare bones 16ft with 3 bench seats

My extensive collection of literature does not include the '77 SeaNymph model year. In the 1980's the deluxe models were in the "SC" series. Based on your description, and my old catalogs, I would guess it would be rated at 35-40 HP for a tiller model.

Based on my experience with s SeaNymph 14R, I would stick at or below 35. The older SeaNymphs were built with marginal structural integrity. Certainly a V-4 would be a dangerous combination.

I have an '81 16' Sea-Ntmph that is rated for 70 but it is the bass boat variant with casting decks and all that and it does have a pretty big knee brace in it, I am running a 50 on it now.

That doesn't mean yours is 70 though, they made alot of different models.
