I have a 7hp Sea King made by Clinton and I'm trying to get it running. Can anyone tell me what the screw settings should be, from seated, for both the top screw and bottom one (on the float)?

It starts ok and when you move the switch from Choke to Run, it dies.

Initial setting high speed (bottom) out 1 1/2 turns, idle screw out 3/4 turn. Then you need to fine tune warm in gear at the apropriat speed. If it still stalls when choke is off usually indicates a carb rebuild with special attention to cleaning.

Thanks Spike, I'll give it a try this next weekend when I can work on it again.

If I need to rebuild the carb, is there a place on-line to get one?

When doing the final adjustment do the high speed first under load.Clinton has been out of business for some time. There is a chance a small engine shop may be able to help. Some Clintons used a Tillotson MT carb.

I checked last night and the carb has "LMB" stamped on it. I didn't find much that was too obvious about a rebuild kit or different carb that would fit the engine. Any ideas where to look?

Would you happen to know what the lever on the left side of the motor, next to the cover latch, is for? It rocks back and forth, not very far. I haven't had the motor running long enough to find out what it's for.

If the lever is on the left side of the motor as you face it in the drivers position then it is the shift lever.Possibly
just a clutch/neutral lever.
