my engine has the montgomery ward name on it from where they bought the name, it also was made in ohio(i can't make out the city name but it starts with a "t" i believe), also it has 2 cylinder.when the starter cord is pulled there is no spark to the plug when u hold it to the block. the coils are cracked and i believe i read that if that they'er cracked that they can leak high amounts of electricty.would any body now what is wrong, should you have any idea please respond.

If the coils are cracked they need to be replaced.
A number of companies made motors for M/W.
Look for a model number on the mounting bracket.
Or a better description.
Does the pull rope windup on a spool that drives a gear similar to that on an electric starter?
Does it wind up on a spool above the flywheel like most outboards.Color?Make of carb?
Throttle linkage cable or levers and gears.
Is the hood metal or fiberglass? What spark plug?
