I am considering purchasing a new Sea Fox 22ft XP model bay boat. I don't know much about the quality of this rig and I'm looking for some guidence from anyone having any experience with Sea Fox boats. I will be using the rig in southwest Florida fishing coastline and intercoastal back country. Thanks

Re: Sea Fox Bay boats

My father had one and loved it. He had a friend who had one and loved it. Most people who own one will say they'd buy another. however there are many out there that say otherwise. I've run into a lot of people bashing them in other forums. Sounds kinda like Bayliner a little. Some folks bash the quality, but many owners claim to love them. (Not that I'm necessarily comparing one to the other, though I have had nothing but good experience with Bayliner personally)

Personally, I think they manufacture a boat at a certain price point. It's not going to be a Contender or a Regulator, or even a Grady White. You might find guys criticize the fit and finish, or wiring. ALL boats will have some problems to an extent. I've heard their customer service and warranty coverage is outstanding.

The boat will do the job you want it to do.

Re: Sea Fox Bay boats

along the lines Shrew said, when buying used and/or mid-level boats, the question is not "how good is it?" but "how bad can it be?"

Short of a design defect or flaws in the materials, if you know boats and your intended use, you can see what you're getting.

it's still good to ask; what if they ran substandard materials that cause the inner and outer to seperate? That you'd want to know about.
