I have a Sea Eagle 124SMB. I was considering purchasing the floorboards, but $220 is pricey... has anyone tried any other kind of flooring or know the specs to make your own?

Welcome to Iboats.

Which type of floorboards are they : Wooden, Alum, Composite, Plastic ?

Then issue of making your own floorboards or even modifying them is that unless are exact same brand replicas including stringers, side joiners, that sib won't perform as expected, just good for fast non planing speeds. Although $ 220 sounds pricey, are cheapo compared to other brands floorboards like Zodiaz, Avon, even the Asian ones. If wanting same prevous water performance, buy original ones. Generally speaking, no shortcuts regarding floorboard issues.

They are wooden. I guess you are probably correct. I just think paying $220 for wood is expensive. They want $70 for a wood bench.. which I can make myself for about $10.

I know there is a huge difference between a bench and flooring.. but was just hoping I could find something a bit less expensive.

Don't see it as simple wood, it's probably the cheapest part of the whole sib that will make boating a real difference. How many wooden benches will you need to complete a whole floor ? X x $10.00 = $$$$ ? Boating time is priceless specially during summer, $ 220 is the way to go, besides, who said boating was cheap ?
