I've got a 1997 Sea-doo GTX ( 787 engine family ) and I pulled the carbs ( there are 2 carbs ) to clean & renew them and change out the internal filters ( which were pluged up ), when I reinstalled the carbs it runns kinda rough ( i'm test running it with just the flame guard housing on it and the flame guard ), does this engine run real smooth or is it a rough idling engine ( my experiance is outboards & I/O's ), I've adjusted the low speed idle screws to 1 turn out, as per the manual, and It seems that it won't smooth out, it reves pretty freely ( i tried to keep the RPM under 3500-4000 when reving the engine ), the engine fires up really easy ... a'm I missing something?, as a side note when the jet-ski was running, untill the internal fuel filter pluged up, there was a rought spot at around 3000 rpm, it was like it was missing, and/or bog, once you got through it it ran really smoothly, now after rebuilding the carbs, that bog is still there, I pulled the plugs after a rev to about 4000 rpm and they are somewhat black & kinda damp, but not really wet, like an old Force motor that is set up correctly, the rebuild kir was a factory kit and all the parts were OEM and the diaphrams had the red dot in the center, also I'm replacing the fuel lines on this ski, as I've read that the stock factory ones were crap, I put another inline filter in the fuel line, just before the wye, as it goes to the seperate carbs, I've noticed that the fuel pump won't fill that filter ( it's one of those see-through types ) are these fuel pumps robust enough to fill that extra filter?, I cleaned the fuel filter that's mounted on the top bulkhead, under the steering area, again This was full of junk, also I noticed that there is what looks like some of the 2 cycle engine oil, in the bilge, upon reading some other threads, I'm assuming the RV seals are going bad or are bad, would this have a influence on the idle issues/ and stumble/bog at around 3000 rpm? again, did I miss some thing?
