Hi guys
looking at picking up a used Sea Ark SunTastic aluminum deck boat to use as family mess around and fishing boat. does anyone know anything about these or about Sea Ark and the quality of that era? the boat isn't perfect and needs a few things but i can get it at what i think a reasonable price is compared to the alternatives. Seems like a deck boat is a perfect fit for us, any advice for or against those in general? Comes with 1997 Johnson 112hp.

Sea Ark are well built aluminum boats. They are built with ,125 aluminum instead of the standard.08 aluminum. They are very durable boats and I think you will enjoy the Sea Arc. The company has a long history of building commercial boat such as work and potrol boats.

How does 4600 strike you as a price? Its just about boom for boat motor and trailer. Ha its issues but sounds like nothing major. Compression test will be done for sure. Not sure what weight a book value carries on a boat that old or at all really?

$4600 sounds reasonable to me provided everything is in good shape mechanically (don't forget to check the trailer over thoroughly). As kaldeh said, SeaArk has been at it for a while and they build quality aluminum boats. That said, the ride can be a little rough and wet as compared to a barge, so before you pull the trigger you really need a water trial with the whole crew aboard, especially if you (and more important they) have never been on a metal deck boat. After the money has been handed over isn't the time to discover the admiral doesn't like the way it rides, and you know what they say. If the admiral ain't happy............
