scupper problem

I have a sea fox 197. Nice little boat. generally happy with it. My stern gunwale/transom fish box seems to have a mystery drain. I recenlty washed it with soapy water. I heard the water draining, but nothing was comming from the external scupper port. I opened the floor battery compartment, thinking it was draining into the bilge, but there was about 2 inches of non - soapy watar present. where did the soap go? The boat is on a trailer which may impact the angle for bilge draining. I plan on unscrewing the fish box and see if there is a loose hose. Having never done this, I am concerned that this may be bigger deal then attaching a lose hose. I would appreciate any thoughts. thanx

Re: scupper problem

Before I unscrewed anything I would jack up the front of the trailer as high as you can get it or at least to where the bow is much higher than the stern. That should send any water in the hull to the back and out of the transom hole.

Bet you find it.

ralphie,
Your transom fish box may have its own dedicated drain coming out somewhere else than the scupper.Usually, the scuppers drain the cockpit.Look for a seperate(smaller) drain fitting on the outside of the boat.Another idea, maybe(and this is a big maybe)you have a holding tank?
