I never had this problem with the old boat, but it was much smaller. Anyhow at the bow eye the trailer bumper/roller is scuffing through the gel coat. I think it's because I am not winching the boat in tight enough..but really..how tight should I be winding it for towing? Right now I've got her wound up as tight as I could physically get it, but I worry that it's putting too much stress on the bow eye. I noticed that the bow hasn't been sitting securely against the stop when I got it into the garage the last time out, so I've since tightened it quite a bit more and it's sitting squarely where it should..now.
I've ordered one of these: http://www.iboats.com/ScuffBuster_t...7675672--**********.201542178--view_id.391907 . It says to scuff the area with sand paper anyhow, and I've done that with the bow roller, so half the work is done.
Has anyone tried this, and any tips on what I am doing wrong. It's a brand new trailer, with a small black v-notched roller at the stop. It's a bunk trailer. As I say, I didn't have this problem with the old boat, and hate to see damage on the new boat due to my own stupidity.
