The top head of a hex headed screw used to hold the anode on the bottom of my f150 came off as I was tightening it .Wasn't overdoing it , must have been weakened by corrosion or whatever . Any suggestions on getting the remainder of the screw out . thanks , larry

Re: Screw issue

There are several method that are fairly common. Unfortunately, none are easy. One is to use a stick welder, and fuse a metal rod to the end of the bolt and unthread with a vise grip etc. Another is a left handed drill bit and easy out. This can be risky though as you need to drill in the center of the bolt and not come out through the side, and then be sure not to break the easy out. If you are lucky sometimes the left handed bit will walk it out by itself. A little too late for this now, but anti seize on the bolt threads helps prevent situations like these.

Good luck!
