I have a pair of Mercruiser Pre-Alpha outdrives. The trim cylinders were rebuilt last summer. Last week both units were working fine during testing in my driveway. At some point the starboard trim motor stopped working so I replaced with spare one. prior to connecting the hoses I tested the unit. Red wire to green fluid came out of one hole, Red wire to blue, fluid came out of the other hole. Refilled the resivior and reconnect the lines and the unit only trims up. I lossened the nuts on the trim cylinders to let the unit come down. Its trims up no problem...

Flip the lines. PRV to raise is set to 2900 psi. PRV to lowe is about 700psi

Update, I brought in another pair of eye to watch to outdrives, while I energize the green and blue wires directly to the hot... The outdrive only goes up! even when the down wire is energized..... SMH..

Do you have a 3-wire motor or a 2-wire motor?

You put + on green, - on blue and it goes down

You put + on blue, - on green and it goes up
My fault Scott..... Its a 3 wiresetup, green and blue coming out of the top of the motor and it gets grounded from one of the threaded post on top.. sorry

If you have a 3-wire motor and putting+ voltage on green makes it go up. You need to pull the motor and either repair it or replace it
