scrap weight

does anyone know the approximate weight of a 20ft pontoon boat stripped down for scrap without the trailer. thinking about scrapping the ole girl but its hard to strip it down without knowing ill get for it.

They consider it sheet aluminum and not as much as you think. I bet you will get more money selling it off as a project boat......and less work on your part too.

I read on here once they will only bring in the neighborhood of 300.00 give or take. Wish you were closer I'd be interested in it as a project and would think someone in your area would also. Put it on Craigslist you might get 500.00 or so and not have to do the work.

Check my old post. I scrapped a 24' before...posted some cool pics too. But they considered it Dirty Aluminum because i left the floor on and had epoxy on the toons. I also scrapped the steel trailer which was a different transaction. If you strip it clean to all pure aluminum you will get more...something like 20 cents more a pound. Call your scrap yard for prices. All said and done i got around $300 for the boat and trailer combo.....not much but the boat was evil and needed to go
