Scotty Downriggers

Does anybody have any comments about These units. I'm planning on buying a pair of Scotty 1091 manual Downriggers. They just seem to have mor aption than Cannon. + lifetime warranty. Will be using them in 75 ft water on Lake Jocasee, SC. Fishing for Brown trout and rainbow.

Trollhole,<br />Scotty's are made around here and they are <br />preferred around here by a big margin for salt water salmon fishing where you often need to go depeer than 100'. I have a twenty five year old scotty 18" arm manual on my boat that still works a charm. They hold up to salt water and will work well at much greater depths than 75 feet so you shouldn't have any problems.

I live in Victoria, British Columbia and Scotty downriggers are made here in town. They are by far the most common unit and are very dependable. I have used them for many years. The best thing is Scotty's no question gaurantee. They will repair any downrigger and make it like new no matter how old it is or what happened to it. They are a great company to deal with

Scotty downriggers have about 98% of the market out here-and check out the electric model- they have taken over the market.Cranking up a 15 lb lead ball all day is all that takes to make you go back to the store and look at the electric models- either that or take along a stong armed wife[ girlfriends don't do it]
