Mercury 1989 150 black max-- takes 4 minutes for water to pump out of upper hole. Plenty of water comes out of prop and exhaust ports. Changed water pump housing, impeller and thermostats 143's.

Some of those engines have the thermostat outlet as the tell-tale. So the water will only start to show when the thermostat opens...
